CourseTitle: Life Drawing and Composition

Course Description:

This course will introduce students to the fundamental drawing skills necessary for success in art and design. This course will mostly focus on black and white drawing skills. Students may repeat this course in order to achieve intermediate to advanced levels of proficiency.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Students will learn:
1. To draw from life and translate what they see into a 2-Dimensional image on paper using pencil, pen and ink, and other materials.
2. To learn how to make a pleasing visual composition and how to place objects on a page.
3. To learn the basics of perspective in drawing.
4. To learn about values, shades, and tones and how to achieve a variety of values with pencil and pen and ink.
